In February 2022 volunteers joined us to create a native demonstration garden right on Myrtle Ave in Monrovia. This garden was envisioned as a way to showcase sustainable landscaping practices that conserve water, support local ecosystems, and serve as an educational space for future projects.
With the help of dedicated volunteers, we constructed a beautiful hügelkultur mound—an effective water-harvesting technique that captures moisture, builds healthy soil, and reduces the need for irrigation. This feature is just one example of how thoughtful, nature-based design can help communities adapt to drought conditions and climate challenges.
We’re especially grateful to MAIP Industrial Park for making this project possible. By choosing to reimagine their landscape with sustainability in mind, they’re setting a strong example for how commercial properties can take meaningful steps toward water conservation and environmental responsibility.
We want to recognize @regenerativesystems for their ongoing work in connecting communities through regenerative design. Their guidance and support are helping bring natural systems back into urban spaces, one project at a time.
This demonstration garden marked the beginning of a larger effort to rethink how we design our landscapes. We’re excited to see it grow and to continue sharing water-wise solutions with our community.
